Cumbria Life - Sharrow in the City

Cumbria Life - Sharrow in the City

For one week only Londoners will forgo their green wellies,
Barbour jackets and travel to the Lake District to enjoy Sharrow
Bay's Michelin-starred cuisine as the Sharrow Bay chefs takeover
Harvey Nichols prestigious Fifth Floor Restaurant in Knightsbridge
to showcase the very best cuisine the North has to offer.
The Sharrow Bay chefs have created a
special six-course tasting dinner menu
for the Fifth Floor Restaurant, which
features a selection of their signature dishes,
including their world famous sticky toffee
pudding (which will also be available to
purchase in Harvey Nichols Foodmarkets
nationwide). Like in the hotel the menus use
the finest Cumbrian ingredients including the
'Best End and Braised Shoulder of Lamb'
from the nearby Yew Tree Farm, a lamb dish
that Sharrow Bay's Head Chef Colin Akrigg
calls 'the best he has ever tasted'. High praise
indeed especially when it comes from a chef
who has been Michelin starred for 13
consecutive years. The capital's folk must
surely be in for the culinary treat of their lives!
The event, which is part of Sharrow Bay's
60th year celebrations, starts on Thursday 25
September and runs until Thursday 2 October
(inclusive), Head Chefs Colin Akrigg, Mark
Teasdale and Paula Richardson will join Fifth
Floor Executive Chef Jonas Karlsson in the
Harvey Nichols kitchens. To make the
experience complete, Nicolas Chieze, Sharrow
Bay's award winning sommelier, will be
working with the Harvey Nichols team of
sommeliers and wine buyers to select
accompanying wines from the list at the Fifth
Floor Restaurant.
The tasting menu is priced at £55.
A vegetarian tasting menu will also be
available, while the Sharrow Bay Market Menu
will be available during lunchtime, priced at
£19.50 for two courses and £24.50 for three.
